Michaela: [00:00:00] Hey y’all, it’s Michaela Evans with Kentucky SPIN, and I just wanted to talk to you a little bit about our segment that we’re calling “Act Right, Do Right.” At the beginning when COVID-19 hit, I have to say it didn’t really affect me all of that much. I was very blessed to already have been working from home some of the time.

And I was just kind of embracing those changes and going with it. Now that we’re a few months in, I feel a little more differently about it. I feel disconnected from my friends, my family, my life. And I just kinda feel like I’m here. I don’t really know how I feel a lot of the time. But one thing that I want to just to let you guys know, don’t judge anybody where they’re at.

They’re not going to be in the same place as you. And if you see somebody going out to the store and you don’t think they should be, they may have a reason that you don’t know about. And if you see somebody not wearing a mask. [00:01:00] They may be claustrophobic or have some sort of a condition or trauma that would be more harmful for them to put on a mask.

So let’s not judge our friends. Let’s not judge other people we don’t know, and let’s just try to love and support each other the best we can. I think that’s been the most disheartening thing that I’ve seen. And I think kind of the change in my mood is because in the beginning I felt like we were all coming together as a state and as a country, and supporting one another and now I feel like everybody’s back to arguing and I just feel like, why judge other people?

You don’t walk in their shoes and you don’t know what they’re going through. I’m not going to pretend like I do. I hope you guys don’t either. And if you’re struggling, reach out to somebody, to a friend or a family member, to us at Kentucky SPIN and we’ll just lend a listener an ear. But I hope that you guys are going to continue to be out there acting right and doing right.

Like, I’m going to try to as well.
